Chuck and Liz
My first book took forever to write. First, because I needed to do so much research, and second, because I needed to do a lot of deep personal work in order to be able to finish it.
Throughout those years both my brother, Chuck, and my sister, Liz, were steadfast in their support. Neither of them ever told me I should give up this crazy, interminable project and go find something else to do with my life.
What I’ve written, from that first book onward, is not for everyone. In fact, it’s not for most people. Upgrading love is so challenging and dealing with the death of hope is excruciating.
But Chuck and Liz continued to encourage me every step of the way.
That’s not to say they agreed with everything I wrote. Not at all. But they both understood how important this upgrade mission is to me, how it’s the very center of my life, and they supported me in doing what I so clearly needed to do.
I will be forever grateful to them.
I’m sad to have to tell you that Chuck died of COVID on January 8, 2023. It was a hard death and I miss him.
