Raindrops splashing down on the surface of the water making ripples, some large , some small. In this photo, the water is a deep blue with shadows of light here and there. In the poem, the lake was actually grey because the day was totally grey.

Trill

Raindrop blips
dancing on the water.
The lake laughs
from so many tickles all at once.
The pelican splashes merrily
to the beat of this background music
as she fishes for her breakfast.
The loon,
happy within himself,
adds a goofy trill of harmony,
and me?
I forget
the dark dreams I had last night.

Up close and personal picture of a male loon with his green-black head and a red eye and a strong of water drops trailing down from the chin of his bill.
